18 May 2026 — The Pekanbaru City Government organised the Virtual Conference on Best Practices in Education for Sustainable Development for Green Schools and Green Cities, bringing together schools and city representatives across the IMT-GT subregion to exchange experiences and innovative practices in sustainability education. 🌱
The conference featured a keynote address by Mr. Amri Bukhairi Bakhtiar, Director of the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT), highlighting the importance of education and city-level collaboration in advancing sustainable urban development across the subregion.
The session also contributed to the preparation of the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) portfolio progress report to be presented at the upcoming 9th IMT-GT Green Cities Mayors’ Council (GCMC) Meeting.
